Thoughts from Building Work Party at the Schoolhouse Garden

What an exciting day! A small group of students worked with Robin and Lorri to continue building the retaining wall and a raised seat wall for the garden. It is great to see some of the components for the design come to life as we create the outdoor classroom and tasting stand. In building the wall, I learned how to use a caulking gun for the first time! It is amazing to me I have never used one – it seems to be a skill everyone should have! Hopefully there will be an opportunity to share this newfound skill with someone else as we continue working on these structures. In two hours, we were able get quite a bit done! Each block must be leveled and firmly in place – it is almost like a puzzle in ways.
